The lagoon is an 11 million litre underwater habitat ready to be explored and observed. It takes a team larger than members to solely care for all the marine wildlife, with jobs including water quality technicians, veterinarians and mammal specialists. The mammal specialists alone can spend up to nine-hours a day working on their relationships with the sea lions. Atlantis, the Palm has its own centres for marine education and conservation, including Dolphin Bay and Sea Lion Point, which are the first of their kind to be created in the region.

These facilities offer the public the opportunity to get up close and witness these intelligent creatures, with five different animal experiences over its three interactive lagoons. The Lost Chambers Aquarium, which holds the Ambassadors Lagoon as well as many other underwater and marine exhibits, is home to more than 65, marine animals in total.
