What makes peace lily flower

Should I cut it off? I have been watering accordingly snd it is in a well lit room but no direct sunlight. Thanks in advance. I planted my Peace Lily as suggested above in rocks and water about a week ago. It is located downstairs with florescent light during the day and low light at night.

I noticed today that the plant is starting to droop. The flowers had been standing upright when I planted it but now they are drooping sideways and the leaves are limp. The base of the plant is above the waterline. What is causing this and what should I do? I have a Sensation peace lilly that got root rot.

The root rot was removed and it was re-potted. The leaves and branches continued to droop. I cut the leaves, but left the branches. Should I cut the branches down all the way to the soil and will it reive or is it a hopeless cause? Please help!!!! These plants love water but they don't need to be sitting in extremely soggy soil.

Only water them when the soil is dry within half an inch off the very top of the soil usually this is only ONCE per week. You can and should mist your plants using a spray bottle just one or two sprits every few days, this will cut down on your need to water them and provide them with that humidity they love. Also, one more thing about watering and this is really important: do not use tap water unless you let it sit out for 24 hours, exposed to air.

This is because peace lillies are sensitive to chlorine which makes tap water safe to drink. So fill up your watering can and let it sit and the chlorine will eventually dissolve out of it. Sitting out on your porch might be giving them a ton of direct sunlight. This is bad! The leaves on peace lillies are really thin and sensitive to direct sunlight. You should only keep them outside in a shady area if you live in a really humid area that doesn't get colder than 65F 18C or hotter than 85F 30C.

Of course, you can keep them out for part of the year if it gets within that range but definitely keep them out of the sun. But if you live in a dry climate, you may need to water and mist them more frequently.

Once again, don't water them unless the soil is dry. Also, these plants will tell you when they need water by very visibly drooping when thirsty and perking up within an hour of being watered! Finally, don't overfertilise them since you're keeping them in pots. These are very low maintenance plants that are usually satisfied with the minerals from the fresh soil you use when repotting.
